Cacheuta Hot Springs from Mendoza: Spa Day or Thermal Park, and Which Tour to Book?
4 min read
For most visitors the premium spa day at Cacheuta at €149.75 is the simplest choice: hotel pickup, a buffet lunch and the most reviews of any Cacheuta tour. If you are travelling with children under 14, the thermal park option of a different listing is the one to look at, because the spa is closed to them.
What Cacheuta is
Argentina’s national tourism site puts Termas de Cacheuta about 40 km from Mendoza city on Provincial Route 82, roughly an hour away, at 1,245 metres above sea level. It says the springs emerge at between 35 and 50 °C. The pools on the tour pages are cooler: one listing gives 30 to 40 °C, another 20 to 43 °C, so treat the temperature as a range, not a promise.
The first thing to understand is that “Cacheuta” is sold as two different days. One is the thermal park, with tiered outdoor pools, waterfalls and a suspension bridge. The other is the hotel spa, with stone pools, a steam grotto, whirlpools and mud treatment, and lunch at the hotel restaurant. The listings below sell one, the other, or both.
The options
The premium spa day lasts 10 hours and has 73 reviews. Pickup is from a list of 41 hotels in Mendoza, and the page says you are back by 5 pm. It describes a thermal circuit with waterfalls and footbaths, a sauna in a grotto and a buffet lunch with grilled criollo dishes, vegetarian options and salads. Massages cost extra. The page states that children under 14 cannot enter the thermal spa, and one review says the transport commentary was only in Spanish.
The thermal park or spa day costs €36.55 and lasts 9 hours, with a Spanish-speaking guide. In the park option the meeting point is fixed at the Escudo of Plaza Independencia and hotel pickup is not included; weekday and weekend prices differ. The spa option adds an all-you-can-eat Creole lunch, with drinks not included, and pickup from central hotels. Note that the page says the trip may be cancelled and rescheduled if the Potrerillos Dam gates are opened, and that some services in the park may need cash.
The private spa day with transfer costs €138.16 and is a private group with a Spanish- and English-speaking driver, collecting you between 8:30 and 9 am. It lists a buffet with wood-fired barbecue, and drinks and massages are extra. The page lists children under 14, pregnant women and people with heart problems as not suited.
The spa day with asado costs €234.43, lasts 9 hours and is a private group with a guide in Portuguese, English, Spanish or French. It mentions more than 10 stone pools, mud therapy and a natural vapour cave. Drinks with lunch and massages are not included, and the page warns of restrictions by age, weight and fitness.
The trek, rappel and thermal park day at €142.62 is a different trip: about three hours of trekking, three rappels of 13, 10 and 30 metres, then an optional 2.5 hours at the thermal water park. It lists children under 14, people with back problems and people over 70 as not suited.

Our recommendation
Book the premium spa day if you want a relaxed day without arranging transport. Choose the park option of the thermal park or spa listing for a family outing or a looser day, accepting that you must reach Plaza Independencia yourself. The page lists small groups of up to 3 people, so ask the operator first if you are more. The private options make sense for couples who want their own timing. All pages offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before. More choices are under Cacheuta hot springs tours.
